Monash Country Club
Monash Country Club
I have been Course Superintendent at Monash County since 2016. The first project I commenced, was to rebuild the greenside bunkers.
The existing bunkers at Monash had major problems including the following:
-
Poor sub base construction
-
In adequate bunker face lining
-
Contaminated sand
-
Blocked drainage
New technology in bunker construction has come a long way, after working with the Matrix system at previous clubs, it was an easy decision to procced with using this technology to improve the playability of golf course bunkers and reduce staff labour hours on bunker repair and maintenance.

The Matrix System is easy to Install and has proven results to be a superior bunker lining. This durable, long-lasting material is designed to allow unlimited drainage while preventing washouts and flooding. Additional benefits include reduced bunker maintenance costs, faster return to play after heavy rains, and improve playability.
We have completed the rebuild of 26 greenside bunkers at Monash, leaving only the fairway bunkers remaining.
